TIPS
- Hogs – ideal time for slaughter on most meat breeds (York’s, Hamp’s, Duroc’s) is between 6-8 months old and 230-250 lbs live weight, carcass weights being 185-200lbs.

- Beef should be about 14-20mo old at the “ideal” time of slaughter 1100-1300lbs live weight. Traditional “beef” cattle to provide a good yield of meat vs bone.
- Lambs should be about 6-8mo old at the “ideal” time of slaughter and should weigh approx 120-140lbs live weight.
