New Prices JAN 1st 2022.                   We will also add a “freezer fee” per animal…. this fee will be waived for all animals picked up within 7days of completion. We need everyones cooperation during these extreme times to be able to process all the animals coming in so quickly.

  • Hogs –  ideal time for slaughter on most meat breeds (York’s, Hamp’s, Duroc’s) is between 6-8 months old and 230-250 lbs live weight, carcass weights being 185-200lbs.
    Guinea Hogs should ONLY weigh 120-140 live, or 80-100 hanging weight. Do not over feed them, their meat doesn’t get larger then a lamb chop…ever!
  • We Do Not recommend Guinea Hogs, their yields are a lot lower then a regular butcher Hog, call the shop for more recommendations before purchasing, or butchering.
  • 2022 pork laws will make scheduling hogs in advance extremely important…..call 3-6 months in advance is recommended
    • Beef should be about 14-20mo old at the “ideal” time of slaughter and should weigh about 1100-1300lbs live weight. We don’t recommend using “milk” cows for butcher, Jerseys & Holsteins need to be fed more then tradition “beef” cattle to provide a good yield of meat vs bone.
    • Lambs should be about 6-8mo old at the “ideal” time of slaughter and should weigh approx 120-140lbs live weight. We do not recommend small breeds like Barbados, the meat to bone ratio is poor.

SCHEDULE your slaughter appoints early! Covid Chaos has butchers booking 3-6 months in advance.

  • PEAK Busy “fair season” months are May, June, July
  • Fair is an extremely busy time. Adjust your breeding or feeding schedule so animals are ready for butcher Aug-April
  • The lack of processors helping the fairs has made this season extremely busy since 2016
  • Hunting season is Sept-Dec, Also busy, schedule this time 6 months in advance is recommended
  • Jan 1st – April 1st is the best time for ranch animals, more Ranch animals taken each week during these months. No fairs & No Hunting
  • Freezer Space is FULL!!!    BE prepared to PICK up all MEAT ASAP. Storage Fees strictly enforced during Fair Season & Deer Season
  • Meat is boxed, frozen and ready for pick up when we call, no need for ice chests, no need to call ahead either.

    • Please fill out your online form, or call with your cutting instructions with-in 24~48hours after your animal has been slaughtered
    • We will be limiting farm kill animals from May 1st – July 30th to make room for the large number of fair animals
    • The cooler & freezer needs to be completely empty
      Memorial Weekend , Fathers Day, 4th of July Weekend and Aug 1st to accommodated the large Fairs we process for. Please make sure you Pick up your meat ASAP during the Summer/Fair Season
      (4000 boxes the last 3 fair seasons & our freezer only holds 750)
    • Meat over 14days completed and not picked up is $50 per week per animal for late/storage fees…..meat over 60days will be disposed of

  • No Hang Only’s….all animals received will be cut.
  • Only 1 choice of sausage flavor per 1/2 hog
  • DUE  to the COVID surge in business Limited Freezer Space available we will not have space in the freezer to save extra things like Fat, Skin, or bones (except dog bones)
